Camping barns are supposed to be basic, its part of the charm, and maybe why they are often called stone tents! This kind of accommodation is ideal for groups looking to make that annual road trip together or people looking to get away. With prices from just £8.50 a night is it really worth fighting with your tent?
Fell End is a traditional 18th Century Lakeland stone 'bank' barn, located within its own grass courtyard approximately ½ mile from the farm.
It is within easy distance of Coniston (6 miles) and the Duddon Valley (5 miles). Making it a perfect stop off point while completing the Cumbrian Way.
There are magnificent views towards the Coniston and Langdale Fells, down to the Duddon Estuary. Come and stay and witness the star-filled skies, a truly breathtaking sight.
Experience the ‘Sound of Silence’ in the tranquil and calming Fell End Barn.
Facilities
As you might expect with this type of accommodation, there is no electricity so you will need to bring with you suitable lights e.g. head torches / gas lamps. There is a wood burning stove in the eating area and a fire place outside.
The barn is lit by chandeliers and tea lights (provided) There are 2 picnic style tables for eating, wash basin and w.c. Campfires or BBQ's are not a problem and wood is available from the farm.
Sleeping is in a seperate room and is on a raised platform with matresses so all you need is a pillow and sleeping bag.
